Nook And Cranny - Karma Waters Progressive Voyages Review PV 121
I Came across this album courtesy of Chris Parkins of London Prog Gigs.
This abum is available as a free download from bandcamp.
It is a long album that was recorded live over 4 sessions at Bally studio in Tottenham Hale in London in 2024 with only minimal overdubbing of vocals and bass and synthesisers taking place afterwards.
The album has 9 tracks most of which 8 are over 9 minutes in length
They describe their music as Ambient Space Rock which has progressive leanings and you know what, It’s a very good album that has some great tracks and some wonderfully Gilmour like guitar playing.
This is a good album to just chill to and simply to enjoy the creativity of Dean Cass (drums) and Matt Sullivan (guitars bass and keyboards) who have crafted this fine release.
The album Commences with We Choose To Go To The Moon which is very appropriate in the wake of The Artemis 11 mission that has just returned from that very trip recently, This track has parts of John F Kennedy's speeches about space exploration.from the NASA archives.
Karma Waters follows and this has some delicate guitar lines and tones and a very ambient sound wash to it.
Heavily treated guitar lines sound very effective here in creating mood and movement most effectively.
What I like about this laid back album is its willingness to extend the tracks to a longer length but still manages to retain your interest throughout.
It would be pretty futile to write about each track suffice to say that all are very good and the album is well conceived and executed with a fine sound sadly it is not available on cd as yet although a second album is on the cards which may get a physical issue.
This is an accomplished album which is most definitely worth checking out for yourself its a no trainer to do otherwise really.
